The following vacancies are currently available with our Unforgotten Forces partners. Unforgotten Forces is a collaboration between 14 of the leading organisations supporting older veterans, and their families, in Scotland.  Over the next three years the Unforgotten Forces consortium will deliver a range of new services and enhancements in areas including advice, access to healthcare, social isolation, respite and creative activities and events for those in care settings.  The consortium has been awarded £4 million of funding from the Aged Veterans Fund to undertake this ambitious programme of work. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Unforgotten Forces, a Scotland wide initiative reaching out to veterans aged 65 and over, through supporting Citizens Advice Bureaux in the recruitment and training of volunteers to work with this client group.

Hearing Forces Project Manager – Action on Hearing Loss Scotland
35 hours per week, £28,000
Fixed term until 30 June 2020. Closing date 30 July 2017.
As Project Manager you will lead and manage two Project Officers ensuring that staff and volunteers are trained and motivated to provide the highest quality outreach and information service to support the delivery of the Unforgotten Forces Project. The Hearing Forces Project will provide information, advice and support to individuals, their families and/or carers on issues surrounding their hearing loss or tinnitus.

Hearing Forces Project Officer (x 2) – Action on Hearing Loss Scotland
35 hours per week, £23,000
Fixed term until 30 June 2020. Closing date 30 July 2017.
The Project Officers will provide information, advice and support to individuals, their families and/or carers on issues surrounding their hearing loss or tinnitus. We will provide support groups, courses, factsheets and equipment loans and one to one individual support to enable veterans to gain an understanding of how to cope and manage their condition.

Ex-Service Veterans Handyperson, ILM (Highland)
Full time, £22,500
Fixed term until 31 March 2020. Closing date Friday 11 August 2017.

The handyperson will undertake a variety of small jobs, the majority of which are building related jobs, in and around the homes of ex-service veterans. Being able to work with the clients with empathy and sensitivity is essential.

Legion Scotland Veterans Community Support Coordinator
25 hours per week (Variable 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday), £16,500 pa.
Fixed term until 30 June 2020. Closing date midday on Monday 14th August.

We are seeking to recruit a team of five highly motivated individuals for a fixed period to June 2020. Reporting to the Head of Veterans Community Support you will co-ordinate the delivery of the Veterans Community Support Service across Scotland. You will be required to engage with members of the Ex-Service Community, Unforgotten Forces consortium members and partners to provide support and assistance to veterans and their families.
