How we Raise Funds
Thanks to the generosity of the public and the support of dedicated volunteers, Poppyscotland can continue its work, looking after veterans and their dependants in Scotland.
We are perhaps best known for organising the annual Scottish Poppy Appeal. The Appeal has seen a 41% rise in income over the past three years, raising a record £2.2 million in 2009. Over 10,000 volunteers take to the streets every November, armed with 60,000 cans, to sell over four million poppies.
In order to continue to help the increasing number of veterans and dependants who need our help we need to raise funds all year round. We do this through events and activities, such as the Back to the Blitz Swing Dance, which took place at the Barrowlands in Glasgow and challenge events such as the Edinburgh Marathon, and we encourage our supporters to come up with their own fundraising ideas to help us too!
If you would like to contribute to Poppyscotland there are many ways in which you can help with our fundraising. As well as buying a poppy or taking part in an event you can make a donation, sign a Gift Aid declaration, leave a gift in your Will or buy some Poppyscotland merchandise.
