Addressing immediate needs

The type of support that we provide through our financial awards is varied and far-reaching. We help with relocation expenses to household repairs, from mobility support to respite breaks and from simple everyday household items to home adaptations which enable our beneficiaries to stay in their own homes.

The impact of our intervention can mean many things for different people. A simple thing like a one-off grant for a fridge to store medication has a huge impact for an individual with health problems. Making an alteration to a house so that a disabled veteran can continue to stay at home not only improves the comfort of the veteran but relieves pressure on the wider family as the veteran is able to move more freely around the house and is able to retain his or her independence. In addition, a short respite break for a family who are getting over a life-changing event such as illness or bereavement can have a long-term, positive impact on the quality of their lives.

Watch our short video to see how our support is making a difference to one veteran and his family.
