We are very grateful for the dedicated support Loretto RC Primary School, Musselburgh gave Poppyscotland recently. The money they have raised will be used to make a real difference to the lives of Scotland’s veterans and their families. Susan Dalglish, Primary 6 class teacher, tells us all about their efforts:
“We raised money for Poppyscotland in various ways. Firstly we went around all of the classes with one of the collecting tins, this raised £71.80.
The children then wrote poems to enter in the Poppy Poetry competition. We decided to then hold a poetry recital for parents and grandparents, where they were asked to make a donation.
Finally we opened a Christmas cafe, named ‘Poppies’ where every pupil came and enjoyed our goodies and joined in great fun, served by Santa, Rudolph and of course their very helpful elves.
We are thrilled to report we raised a total of £539.05 for Poppyscotland.”
