Holy Cross High School, Hamilton, hold Armistice Day events and join the community for local remembrance service.

Holy Cross High School used Poppyscotland's education materials in several subjects to reinforce the mesage of remembrance on Armistice Day.

John Burns, Depute Head at the Upper School encouraged the Poppyscotland eduation materials to be used in Social Subjects, English and Religious Education. On Armistice Day S6 pupils spoke to S1 pupils about the background to Poppy Day and why they should remember them. They recited First World War poems, 'The Call' and 'The Reply'. Pupils from S6 then joined veterans in Hamilton at their community event where they were invited to recite 'In Flanders Fields' and 'We Shall Keep The Faith'.
