Heart of Scotland Tree on display in Edinburgh

2nd November 2015 Fraser Bedwell

The unique metal tree sees more than a thousand messages of support and Remembrance attached to its branches.

The Heart of Scotland Tree is situated alongside the Field and Garden of Remembrance, which opened today (Monday 2nd November). Heart-shaped cards with messages from supporters have been tied to branches by volunteers and members of the public are invited to view the messages and attach their own messages this week in exchange for a donation.

The theme of the 2015 Scottish Poppy Appeal is Donate like you mean it and Poppyscotland is aiming to raise as much money as possible so it can continue to support those in the Armed Forces community who need it most.

People can support the 2015 Appeal by taking a video or photo selfie using the hashtag #MyPoppyMeans and sharing on social media then donating like they mean it by putting money in the poppy tins, texting POPPY to 70800 to give £3* or going online at www.poppyscotland.org.uk
