All money raised through the Scottish Poppy Appeal is spent in Scotland.
By supporting the Scottish Poppy Appeal and wearing a poppy in November, you can make a real difference to the lives of veterans and their families across Scotland.
Poppyscotland uses your money to support veterans in two ways:
Directly, by providing direct financial assistance to those in need.
We support people who are in financial need, with one-off and annual grants. We help finance home repairs and household items, respite breaks, mobility aids such as electric-powered vehicles and other personal needs. We also offer retraining grants and business loans to help veterans get on the right career paths.
Indirectly, by awarding grants to organisations that deliver specialist services to veterans
Two examples of organisations we have helped recently are:
Erskine - Over the past five years Poppyscotland has awarded over £1 million in grants to Erskine. Most recently we have awarded £60,000 for residential care rooms at the new extension to the Edinburgh home.
Scottish Veterans Garden City Association – Poppyscotland is contributing £1 million towards a £6 million appeal to build new homes to meet the urgent accommodation needs of disabled veterans in Scotland.
