Scottish Poppy Appeal

2010 Appeal

To raise the profile of Poppyscotland's work and highlight the urgent need of Scotland's ex-Servicemen and women, we launched a hard hitting advertising and PR campaign around the 2010 Scottish Poppy Appeal.

Using the slogan "Small things, big difference" the 2010 campaign explained that while for most of us wearing a poppy is a small personal act of remembrance, for Scotland's ex-Servicemen, women and their families the poppy can make a big and very positive difference to their lives.

The donations you made to the Scottish Poppy Appeal enable Poppyscotland provide a range of support services every day of the year.

Our TV advert told the story of Private Paul Lambert who lost his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan in November 2009.  To view our TV advert and to read more of Paul's amazing story click here.

Our radio advert was broadcast on the Bauer Scotland network of local radio stations (Clyde 1 & 2, Forth 1 & 2, Tay 1 & 2, Northsound 1 & 2, Radio Borders, Moray Firth Radio, West FM and South West FM) during late October and early November.  This advert told the story of L Cpl David Timmins, who was critically injured in Afghanistan.  To listen to the radio advert and to read more of David's incredible story click here.

We also produced a series of short films in conjunction with STV and the Scottish Sun newspaper.  Entitled "And On We Fight" these films highlight difficulties that some face when they leave the Armed Forces.
