Mental Health Awareness Week 2013

Mental health issues amongst veterans are a growing problem, with many suffering in silence for years.  Poppyscotland is working to improve the lives of those suffering from a variety of mental health problems by providing funding to support the work of specialist mental health charities including Combat Stress.

With charity donations falling is it time to change the way we think about giving?

Earlier this week we announced the results of the 2012 Scottish Poppy Appeal. A terrific £2,586,788 was raised thanks to a generous Scottish public and a dedicated army of volunteers. It was almost a perfect Poppy Appeal, the ‘but’ being that it was slightly down on the 2011 record figure. Not by much (3.76%) and certainly not as steep a fall as experienced by many other charities, which is reassuring.
