NewsPOPPY BUD IN FULL BLOOM AS MAJOR REMEMBRANCE PROJECT LAUNCHES POPPYSCOTLAND OPEN DAY TO RAISE AWARENESS OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
The story of St. Valery has had such a profound effect on me that I intend to make my whole town aware of their sacrifice. I have written a book, ‘MY HERO, MY SOLDIER LADDIE’, about Scotland’s Victoria Cross holders. The book was discussed in parliament and subsequently supplied to every school and library in central Scotland. I campaigned for my country’s 14 Victoria Crosses to be remembered and we now have a 12 ft memorial in their memory in Hamilton’s New Town Square. I’m well aware of how to get the attention of local government and I will use that to bring them to my appropriately decorated home in memory of the 51st Highland Division on 12th of June at 10.00am. Myself and two other full dress piper friends will add to the colour and music on the day. I hope we do not disappoint.
