Inverness Sensory Impairment Open Day

Date: Wednesday 4th of November

Time: 12:00- 16:00

Where: Inverness Welfare centre

Strothers Lane

Inverness

IV1 1LR

We are holding a sensory impairment open day at the Inverness Welfare Centre. Hearing and vision loss can negatively impact on an individual’s life both physically and psychologically. We want to show the support that is available to the Armed Forces community in the North of Scotland living with sensory impairment. Come along to our centre for a chat with our welfare team and other organisations.

Organisations there on the day:

Scottish War Blinded: gives free support to ex-service men and women, no matter if they lost their sight during or after service

Hearing Forces (Unforgotten Forces): Scotland-wide service provided by Action on Hearing Loss Scotland that offers advice and support to veterans aged 65 or over.

NHS Highland Telecare Service: Technology Enabled Care (TEC) is the application of technology to support people to self-manage their own health and stay happy, safe and independent in their own homes.

Sight Action/ Highland Sensory Centre: Provide free and confidential support to people with hearing and sight loss.
