Lighting up campaign

Each year buildings and landmarks across the country show their support for the Scottish Poppy Appeal by lighting up red in the run up to Remembrance Day.  2017 was the best year yet with more than 30 venues taking part. In addition to lighting up red, other structures showed their support by wearing giant poppies!

As 2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War we would like to encourage even more locations to light up red in order to honour our Armed Forces community past and present.

The M8’s iconic grass pyramids at the Pyramids Business Park, Bathgate, have three giant poppies painted onto them each year.  You can see the poppies come together in our time-lapse video:
