1921 Poppy Pledge FAQs

Why should I take the pledge?

Rally your friends, family and colleagues to take on this amazing challenge so we can continue to reach out to those who have served, those still serving, and their families at times of crisis and need by offering vital, practical advice, assistance and funding.
Everything you raise will make a life-changing difference to ex-Service personnel today, who deserve our respect and support in their hour of need. No veteran should live without the prospect of employment, good health and a home, and we all have a part to play in achieving this.

Can we fundraise however we like?

Yes, of course. But it’s a great idea to give your events a 1920’s theme. For example, by dressing up in clothes of the day, swimming 1,921 metres or hosting a 1920’s dinner party.

Do we have to raise our target level of Gold, silver or bronze?

It’s always good to have a target and £1,921 Gold level is a fitting tribute to those who served. However, any amount you raise is greatly appreciated and will make a big difference to the Armed Forces community living in Scotland.

Do we donate as we go along or in one go?

It’s totally up to you. If you prefer to donate as you go along, we’ll keep you up-to-date on your total. Or you can make a single donation when the campaign ends on 11th November 2021. Don’t forget to share your progress with others in our online book.

Can I set up a JustGiving page?

Yes you can – please Click Here and then click start fundraising to set up your JustGiving page. Any help needed with this, please get in touch.

Do I donate as I go along or in one go?

You can donate in whichever way suits you best. If you prefer to donate as you go along, we’ll keep you up-to-date on your total. Or you can make a single donation when the campaign ends on 11th November 2021.

Where will the money raised go?

Your fundraising will help fund vital support for ex-Service personnel and their families. From employment advice and emergency grants, to support with housing and mental health, Poppyscotland improves thousands of lives every year.
