Volunteer Centenary Awards

2021 marks the centenary of the poppy as the national symbol of Remembrance. We want to celebrate this milestone with our Volunteer Centenary Awards, recognising our amazing volunteers who make the poppy so special in their communities.

These awards are designed to celebrate our diverse portfolio of supporters from individual volunteers, schools and clubs, Cadets Groups and more, who contribute so much to the success of the annual Scottish Poppy Appeal. 

There are nine categories:

  1. Young Persons Award (under 18) 
  2. Youth Uniformed Organisation Individual/Unit Award 
  3. Poppy Hero Award (Individual)
  4. School or Youth Group Award 
  5. Group or Club Award (Rotary, WI etc) 
  6. Royal British Legion Scotland Branch Award
  7. Corporate Award 
  8. Welfare Services Award 
  9. President’s Award

Nominations closed on Saturday 31 July 2021. We will be announcing our winners during the Poppy Appeal. Watch this space!

Choosing the winners

Nominations will be shortlisted against the criteria of:

  • Length of service
  • Variety of service
  • Fundraising
  • Education
  • Inspiration
  • Armed Forces Community work 

The shortlisted nominations will be put to a selection committee, who will choose the overall winner of each award.
