In this section we ask you to provide as much information as possible about why you believe the nominee should receive a Centenary Volunteer Award from Poppyscotland. This is your opportunity to ‘sell’ their great work and celebrate their accomplishments. You will be asked to provide information on the following sections:

  • Volunteering
  • Fundraising
  • Education
  • Inspiration
  • Armed Forces community

Selection will be based on the above categories to give all volunteers regardless of geographical location, or volunteer role the opportunity to be recognised for their work. The ‘things to consider’ is just a guide and is by no means a complete list of qualifying criteria it is simply a guide of possible information to provide about the nominee.

Things to consider

  • How long have they volunteered with Poppyscotland? Has that been consistent over that time?
  • Variety of volunteering. i.e. Collector/Area Organiser during Poppy Appeal, ran a 10K, poppy pledges, welfare volunteering etc.


Please provide information on the nominees Fundraising activities.


Things to consider

  • Total amounts raised.
  • Increases over a period of time.
  • Innovation – new fundraising ideas introduced.

  • Work with schools or youth groups.
  • Events organised that spread the message of the Poppy to the community.
  • Setting up community social media groups.
  • Trained or Recruited other volunteers

Armed Forces community

Please provide information on how the nominee has directly supported the Armed Services Community.

  • Organisation/involvement in remembrance parades & events.
  • Social events involving veterans.
  • Any activity that impacted directly on the Armed Services community.

  • Inspiring local people or groups to get involved with Poppyscotland.
  • Supporting other volunteers to achieve.
  • Sharing knowledge and ideas.
  • Overcoming difficult situations or challenges.
