The four Edinburgh-based regular and reservist chefs, from 3 RIFLES and the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry respectively, were on hand to show their support to Poppyscotland at the Cake & Bake Show.
Poppyscotland is the charity partner of Edinburgh’s first Cake & Bake Show, which is at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, from 30 October to 1st November. To mark the 2015 Scottish Poppy Appeal the charity is offering people the chance to decorate cupcakes in a poppy style and will also be running a vintage tearoom throughout the weekend, telling visitors about the latest fundraiser Tea & Toast, which offers people the chance to host a simple event with a cup of tea and a slice of toast or make it more special with a cream tea and a toast of something fizzy.
This is the first year that the Cake & Bake Show has been held in Edinburgh and, as a special treat, past and present participants of the Great British Bake Off, including this year’s finalists, will be at the show over the course of the weekend.
Events Fundraiser Marianne Craig said: “It is a great opportunity for Poppyscotland to have a presence at this major event. We hope that people will visit us over the weekend to both raise awareness of our year-round work with the Armed Forces community and help raise funds so we can continue to deliver our life-changing services.”
The Cake & Bake Show is open from 10am-5pm from Friday to Sunday.
