Tea & Toast

In 2014 we launched a new, year-round fundraiser, Tea & Toast. We invited supporters to host a toast with friends, colleagues, families and fellow students to raise vital funds. From a cup of tea and a slice of white to afternoon tea toasted with a glass of bubbly, supporters across the country are getting behind the idea and coming up with creative Tea & Toast events.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Tea & Toast over the past year and here are some highlights:

  • Elizabeth McKay hosted a Tea & Toast to enhance her existing coffee morning with friends in Broxburn, raising over £300.
  • The pupils of Kirktonholme Primary School in South Lanarkshire held a ‘Tea & Toast an a Blether in Scots’. Everyone enjoyed a hot cup of tea and slice of toast while the pupils read war poetry and did readings in Scots. Diane Anderson, the Scots Language Co-ordinator for Education Scotland, who attended the event said: “It did ma hairt guid.”
  • Our Inverness welfare centre hosted a Tea and Toast event to celebrate its second birthday, attended by beneficiaries, partners and local soldiers.
